Karen Desteuben
Owner, Lead Esthetician
Karen brings over 14 years of experience in the beauty and personal care industry as a licensed esthetician, instructor, nail technician, and Reiki practitioner. Her career began at an advanced training institute for licensed professionals, where she worked closely with salon and spa owners—providing professional-grade skincare, advanced equipment, and continuing education classes designed to help businesses grow and thrive.
After earning her esthetics instructor license in 2014, Karen went on to teach advanced theory and in-depth product knowledge. She found deep fulfillment in mentoring professionals and supporting them as they expanded their skills and confidence behind the treatment table.
Alongside teaching, Karen spent years working hands-on in busy salons and spas, where she built a loyal clientele and honed her craft in a fast-paced, full-service environment. This blend of education and real-world experience shaped her thoughtful, results-driven approach to skincare.
In 2020, Karen returned to teaching—this time in an undergraduate program—where she discovered a renewed passion for education and experienced even greater professional growth.
In March 2021, Karen opened Moonstone Beauty Studio, a reflection of her commitment to high-quality, personalized skincare experiences. Today, she continues to combine advanced knowledge with intuitive care, offering treatments that are both effective and deeply relaxing.
Her favorite service to perform is Brow Sculpting, where precision, balance, and artistry come together to enhance each client’s natural beauty.
Tyler Cousins
Massage Therapist
Tyler is a licensed massage therapist with over 12 years of experience and a deep passion for helping clients find relief from pain, injury, and chronic tension. He is a 2013 graduate of the Holistic Massage Therapy Program at Spa Tech Institute and brings a highly skilled, therapeutic approach to every session.
His diverse technique collection includes Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Myofascial, and Swedish massage, allowing him to fully customize each treatment based on the client’s individual needs. Tyler welcomes complex cases and enjoys the challenge of creating thoughtful, effective sessions that support long-term wellness and recovery.
Tyler has worked in a variety of professional settings, including massage and chiropractic centers throughout the area, as well as the spa at the Four Seasons Boston. These experiences have shaped his intuitive yet results-driven style and reinforced his commitment to excellence in client care.
He especially enjoys working with fellow industry professionals and values building long-term, trusted relationships with his clients. Ninety- and 120-minute sessions are his favorite, as they allow the time and depth needed for truly transformative work.

Natalie Ciulla
Emerging Esthetician
Natalie is a licensed esthetician and recent graduate of the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, where she built a strong foundation in clinical skincare. Her career seamlessly blends her long-standing passion for health, wellness, and the beauty industry with a thoughtful, results-focused approach to client care.
Natalie was drawn to Moonstone Beauty Studio for its philosophy—one that thoughtfully integrates holistic practices with essential medical-based skincare principles. This approach closely aligns with her own beliefs around effective treatments, long-term skin health, and personalized results.
Committed to continued education and professional growth, Natalie is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and skills while supporting each client’s unique skincare journey. We are currently available by appointment only. New clients are required to schedule their first appointment online. Our booking site is the easiest way to see appointments available. Please note the cut-off time for online booking is 8 hours.

No, we only offer services in the esthetician’s scope of licensure. No cosmetic injections, microblading, laser, IPL, electrolysis, etc. For cosmetic injections, we recommend Laurie Miller NP of New Age Esthetics, conveniently located in Danvers square.

The Personalized Spa Facial is always recommended for your first facial appointment. This allows us to get to know your skin before recommending higher-grade facial treatments.
We also offer the option of a one hour consultation. Our consultations consist of a thorough analysis of your health history, current skin care routine, and lifestyle. Bring your current facial products. A physical analysis of your skin is performed, then we create a personalized treatment & home care plan for you based on your skin type, conditions, availability and budget. $25 of this appointment charge is credited towards your first product purchase at Moonstone.
